Whether for weighing large components or measuring tensile forces, the resilient tensile force gauges of the PCE-DDM series are suitable for many applications. Regardless of whether they are used under tough industrial conditions on a daily basis, in agriculture or in commercial operations, the force gauges which are powered by 1.5 V AA standard batteries work independently of the mains supply for up to 50 hours. The scope of delivery always includes a suitable carrying case in which the device, the user manual and, in the case of the smaller versions, the shackles can be stored and transported.
The PCE-DDM series includes five models that differ in size, measurement range and resolution. The models are designated according to their maximum load capacity in tonnes, ranging from the PCE-DDM3 for 3 tonnes, to the PCE-DDM 5, PCE-DDM 10, PCE-DDM 20 and the PCE-DDM 50. All models of this series are available with or without the additional separate control panel. This external hand-held display also works with standard AA batteries. Data are transmitted by radio, with a range of up to 80 m when conditions are good. The same display value as on the meter itself appears on the display of this remote control, which is the same size as that of the tension dynamometer. In contrast to the main unit, there are five function keys on the remote control, which makes it easier to set and operate the tension meter. In addition, the handheld unit has an RS232 interface that makes it possible to send data to a computer.
The tensile force gauges of the PCE-DDM series from PCE instruments measure weights and tensile forces independently of the mains power supply with high accuracy. The measured values can be displayed in the units kilogrammes, lbs, Newtons, kilonewtons and tonnes. The values can be saved to the internal memory for later evaluation. The PEAK function makes it possible to determine the maximum value of fluctuating values from individual measurements with a sampling rate of 2.5 hertz. The hanging scales can be calibrated, adapted to the local gravitational value and, using filter functions, also to the respective measuring conditions.
