Borescopes enable quick and non-destructive visual inspections in cavities that are otherwise inaccessible. Due to the diverse possibilities of application, there are very many devices with a wide range of features. The new PCE-VE 100N4 video borescope from PCE Instruments, with its 360-degree swivelling camera head and flexible tungsten borescope cable with a diameter of 6 mm, offers the best conditions for thorough inspection of cavities that are difficult to access.
The camera head which can be moved in four directions can be easily inserted into existing openings. The camera head of the inspection camera can be moved in all four directions via a joystick. With its 120-degree field of view, the camera covers a large area with a depth of view ranging from 7 to 110 mm. Due to the wide field of view, relatively large areas are displayed even at close distances. The images are transmitted directly to the 3.5-inch monitor. The LED illumination intensity on the camera head can be adjusted in 5 steps up to 25,000 lux, thus ensuring sufficient illumination of the cavities.
The images displayed by the monitor can be saved to a microSD card as pictures or videos. The resolution of the images is 960 x 720 pixels, the video resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels.
Furthermore, the video borescope offers a mini HDMI interface. With this interface, the image can be transmitted to an external monitor or beamer. This has the great advantage that the PCE-VE 100N4 can be used for presentations in automotive workshops, in heating and air conditioning technology and educational institutions.
The new PCE-VE 100N4 is equipped with a 1 m long flexible borescope cable and thus allows the continuous inspection of larger cavities. As the camera cable has a high IP67 protection rating, even damp and heavily soiled areas can be examined. The camera cable can be exposed to temperatures up to +80 °C, the monitor can withstand ambient temperatures from -10 to +50 °C.
With its rechargeable battery, the inspection camera has an operating time of about 3 hours. If the charge level is no longer sufficient, the battery can simply be charged in the borescope via the USB mains adaptor that comes with the inspection camera.
Whether in development, quality assurance or maintenance and servicing - the new PCE-VE 100N4 from PCE Instruments enables thorough visual inspection of all accessible locations. The borescope is versatile and can be used not only in mechanical engineering and vehicle construction but also in the field of building technology. For example, building services equipment and installation ducts can be inspected and the spread of water damage or pest infestation can be detected without having to open up large areas of components. All inspections can also be documented with image and video recordings.
