On September 14th, under the slogan “The future is in your hands!”, Lapp Group inaugurated an Excellence Centre within the University Politehnica of Bucharest, at the Faculty of Electric Engineering. At the Excellence Centre the students shall be made familiar with the work modalities, processes and equipment to be found in an industrial environment.

The Pirelli Group, owner of the local Pirelli Tyres Romania, announced additional investments of approximately 200 million EUR in the Slatina industrial hub until 2021.

Prime Minister Dacian Cioloș has attended on September 13^th alongside the President of the French Republic, Francois Hollande, the inauguration of an important project of Romanian – French economic cooperation, a new assembly plant of Airbus H215 helicopters, on the IAR Ghimbav platform, Brașov. Development of this project will create 350 new jobs until 2020.

Siemens continues to develop in Romania, now complet­ing the extension works at two of its four factories locally operated by SIMEA Sibiu SRL. The two produc­tion facilities are located in Sibiu and in Buzias, Timis county.

At the end of 2015, the inventory of modern indus­trial and logistic spaces in Romania exceeded 2 million square metres. Bucharest ranks first with 47% of these spaces, i.e. 960,000 sqm, followed by Timisoara - 13%, Ploiesti - 11%, Cluj - 7% and Brasov - 7%.

Automobile Dacia SA, OMV Petrom Marketing SRL and OMV Petrom SA lead the top of the largest Romanian companies in terms of the 2015 turnover, being the only ones in the local economy to cross the RON 10 billion threshold, according to an analysis by the Ziarul Financiar.

On the 27th of September Continental, one of the largest international suppliers of auto components and main world producer of tyres, inaugurated in Brasov, a new Research and Development Centre in Romania. The technology leader invested 6 million EURO in a new location, equipment and state of the art technology.

Chinese company shall build and equip a production hall for auto components for Mercedes, an investment of 30 million dollars of Hib Rolem Trim, a German- Romanian company that will create 265 jobs.
