On the 27th of September Continental, one of the largest international suppliers of auto components and main world producer of tyres, inaugurated in Brasov, a new Research and Development Centre in Romania. The technology leader invested 6 million EURO in a new location, equipment and state of the art technology.
“Continental invested in a new technology centre because in Romania we develop software and innovative products in the automotive field. In Romania we have 5,000 engineers who develop products and software for an even more efficient mobility. This means responsibility transferred to Romania, to the research and development equipment here. Our engineers work for an autonomous vehicle, develop applications of interconnectivity of vehicles and of energetic and consumption efficiency. We need specialists in this field in all the locations in Romania, and in Brasov we can find these people“, said Dr. Christian von Albrichsfeld, General Manager of Continental Romania. The works on the new location, with a surface of 1,800 sq m lasted one year. 60 engineers shall perform their activity in the coming years in the new location in Brasov.
“The activity of our colleagues in this new location is dedicated to trading company Fuel&Exhaust Management. Here they shall develop projects which envisage testing and validating products, as well as research and development activities“, mentioned Dr. Joachim Zirbs, Manager of Continental Brasov location.
